The 19th Aichi Ekiden — Aichi Prefecture Inter-Municipality Relay Race

The Aichi Prefecture Inter-Municipality Ekiden Relay Race (Aichi Ekiden) carries the legacy of the 2005 World Expo in Aichi (Expo 2005 Aichi Japan) to the next generation through a memorial event, and promotes exchange and sports among the prefecture’s cities, towns and villages. Held every year in early December at the Ai-Chikyuhaku Memorial Park (Moricoro Park) in Nagakute City, it brings together 54 teams from every municipality in the prefecture and is broadcast on television, making it one of the sporting events most closely followed by the people of Aichi.

愛知県市町村対抗駅伝競走大会（愛知駅伝）とは
2005年に開催された「愛知万博」についてメモリアルイベントを通じ次世代へ語り継ぐと同時に、愛知県内市町村の交流やスポーツ振興などを目的として実施しています。
毎年12月上旬に愛・地球博記念公園(長久手市)で、県内の全市町村54チームが参加し、テレビ放映もあり、それぞれの地域の一体感がより高まる機会となることから、多くの県民が注目するスポーツイベントとなっています。
